Let's talk why this is bad. Real reason.

Have you heard of degrowth? Idea that what we need now is negative economic growth and being satisfied with worse material conditions than now.

Well, what video author is trying is to say that you could take care of children if you sacrifice some material comfort. There is some value in that.

From when is having less source of inspiration, of trying better, of raising human soul? It can't be.

Are we truly going to leave worse condition for younglings, instead of better?

What is better killer of hope and what better raises suicidality that perceiving future as inevitably worse that now? There is none.

First one is question "Are you married?" This question has zero connection with understanding me, my arguments etc...
But the question is useful to understand if you have any real experience with a lasting relationship etc.
Like getting investment advice from a broke person.
There is a credibility issue with those that offer advise and talk a lot but have never done it.

Such conversation usually finish same way. Others run out of arguments against me.
Actually, no! There is a point one reaches where he realises there is nothing to be gained by continuing to debate/argue a belief or idea. All the relevant material has been presented but no change in position has occurred by either party. At such a point, one exercises a degree of wisdom by ceasing to rehash the same material over and over again. Shalom

It's nothing useful because asker usually knows answer in advance.

What truly matters is it true what is said is true. Experience can indication of that, not doubt. However, it block true understanding.

To qoute Henry Ford:

"If you believe you can or can't, you are right."

How can you know you are received truth when you actually speaking with unbeliever for whom it's impossible? See, if person is unbeliever it's impossible for him which doesn't imply it's impossible for you.

Check reactions. People using emotions and experience in order to disprove true math and logic.

You can't expect to one argument, I disprove it and you repeat same argument to have any effect. There is no wisdom here.

And this is exactly why I no longer participate in this forum. It used to be a discussion about patriarchy and polygyny but has digressed to an argument by a few narcissistic men that only care about what they are saying, with no regard for other's ideas or feeling. I miss the old conversations and true gentlemen that used to be a part of the community. Peace out!

I am fairly new here so I am guessing that you predate me by quite a bit. I know your frustration already though... It limits conversation and causes people to not want to put forward their thoughts knowing that they will be attacked.

I do love your user pic. I presume you are a Torah Keeper, yes? I was down in your area for Passover this year looking for a group to meet with on shabbat. I did not find anyone. It would have been great to meet up while I was down there....

You think this is something like debate club with some direct speak, however after some time here it's time to start noticing patterns.

One of customs of this forum is me against whole forum. Nothing strange when I'm dealing with several people at once.

Such conversation usually finish same way. Others run out of arguments against me. There is reason I'm nickmaned brain.

Now it's time for special tricks.

First one is question "Are you married?" This question has zero connection with understanding me, my arguments etc...It's only usage is as way to throw out everything I have told.

To make analogy, imagine speaking with African black why Africa is behing West and Asia. You suggest, to be polite, opportunity to upgrade African culture.

Easiest way for African not to admit African culture suck, West/Asian culture is superior, protect his feeling, avoid to learn anything, keep thinking his is superior is to proclaim you racist. Case closed.

In similar way, others use my unmarried status to even avoid considering my arguments as interesting/right/challenging. It's just easier think: MemeFan is idiot because as unmarried, he doesn't know what he is speaking.

You see, people don't say "I tried what you told and it didn't work" or something similar. Or something like in my experience when using your idea(s) what has happened is X. Or they would have some other causal process which they think is correct. That would be mark of using experience. Maybe there were few cases, but most aren't like this.

Second way is claiming being offended. You see, I use rather direct language, so there is some risk of being abrasive. However, it's also true that not apologizing is being rude. Without seeing faces and with only text, it's very hard to read what other person is really thinking.

So I can't be if certain post was offensive/way it's written is offensive/pretending to be offended.

You see, just like proggresives like to call others racist to establish their moral superiority, it's highly likely some here like to pretend to be offended/ feel offended in other to make me look rude in order to establish their moral superiority.

So after losing logical arguments, it's time to pull big guns of emotional manipulation. And I know this because such persons never use block button on me to never see my posts. Nope, they must see them and be triggered.

Since my personal values are to avoid emotional manipulators and to spend time on people who want me, logically I should at least massively cut my time allocation for this forum. Something which have for other personal reason planned to do. So I have perfect opportunity.

Making people unwelcome is, sadly, one of this forum specialities. I do feel like some would like nothing more than my dissapearence.

And this doesn't include highly probable pressure on moderators to ban me/ punish me.

I'm still undefeated. 🤩
You know when it is you against the whole world, it could mean that you are the only one who is right, and everyone else is wrong, or it could be that the problem, is the person staring back at you in the mirror.

It's not uncommon for single man to be right against whole world. In fact, it's rather big company. Include every inventor or startup founder who was made fun.

Kudos to being comprehensive in all possible explanations.

It's possible to reduce error rate by asking yourself how can you be wrong.

If you wonder why US churches are dying:

They support family of thief. Why else would man visit another person's house without permission?

They don't read Scripture.

The Bible literally says the "thief in the night," literally, "has no blood." (Exodus 22:2 -- No life - he forfeited it when he broke in.)

I cant believe what my eyes can see. This abstract and vague concept of "love" has invaded the churches in a horrendous way. This is what I call the "jesus hippie" mentality. They think the messiah was some kind of hippie who spreaded a generic kind of love that coincidentally benefits only the wrong people and its based on feelings and emotions and pity.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.

II Corinthians 11:4: "...another jesus whom we have NOT preached..."

I agree, and that has been a problem since that day in the Garden. However, it pervades not only churches but also marriages, businesses, and and governments. If someone "feels" offended by what is said or done, it must be wrong. The hate speech laws in many countries are bizarrely foolish and turn righteous speech into a crime. Just like that day 2,000 years ago where the religious people called for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the churches would be doing the same today. That is the sad reality.

Indeed. But "hate" speech laws aren't new if we stop to think. Killing and persecuting all the prophets is nothing more than it. Or stephen where they covered their ears and ran to kill him. The word of God is indeed a sword. It cuts in a way that it seems that they can physically feel it.
